Dallas College Crowdfunding

What is Crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding, also known as peer-to-peer fundraising, leverages the internet to allow clubs and organizations at our colleges to raise money for a specific cause or project by asking family and friends to donate money, usually in small amounts, over a relatively short period of time.

The Dallas College Foundation provides crowdfunding services, free of charge, to our colleges. The projects seeking funding must further the mission of the college and benefit our students, employees or community.

Who Should Apply?

Student Organizations

Does your group or organization need funds to carry out a project, trip or initiative this semester? Crowdfunding can help your group successfully reach your goal.

Club Athletics

If your club athletics team wants to spend less time fundraising and more time competing, crowdfunding will provide you with a proven game plan to fund your team’s expenses.

Researchers

Crowdfunding has launched several prominent research projects into the public eye. Using this tool you can raise awareness and funding for your research.

Programs and Groups

Our program also accepts applications from other institution-related programs, organizations, and academic units.

How does the program work?

Step 1: Apply

If crowdfunding seems to be a good fit for your project, please click the Apply button to submit your project proposal. Please be aware that projects must be approved by your college president prior to submitting an application.

Step 2: Schedule A Call

Applications that meet program criteria will be asked to schedule a phone call with the Crowdfunding Director.

Step 3: Build Your Campaign Page

After being accepted into the program, teams can begin to build a campaign page. All pages must include a video, an about section that details your funding needs, and a call to action to inspire donors to make a contribution to your cause.

Step 4: Fundraise

Once your leadership team has successfully completed the campaign page, your team will be ready to launch its campaign and will have 30 days to reach your fundraising goal. All funds are housed within the Foundation.

Step 5: Stewardship

As your team raises gifts, you will have the opportunity to thank supporters, share updates with them throughout your campaign, and provide stewardship after it ends. Your team will always have access to your project’s fundraising page even after your campaign ends.
