Erin Tierney Kramp Encouragement Scholarship
About
Erin Tierney Kramp Program is awarded to students based upon their courage and perseverance in the face of adversity. Eligible applicants include high school seniors who will graduate in the spring and current students attending Dallas College. Recipients of the Erin Tierney Kramp Encouragement Endowed Scholarship will receive funds for tuition and books up to six consecutive semesters.
Recipients will gain access to a Life Skills Mentor who will provide support and serves as a resource for their achieving their academic, personal and professional potential. Life Skills Mentors are members of the Erin Tierney Kramp Encouragement Foundation Board. They build close relationships with the recipients through planned cultural, political and social events scheduled throughout the year.
Kramp recipients are also eligible to apply for The Erin Tierney Kramp Emergency Grant which was established to provide immediate financial support for ETK scholarship recipients experiencing temporary financial hardship up to a maximum of $1,000. These funds are to be used only when no other source of assistance is accessible. An award from this fund does not require repayment and should not be considered a loan.
Dallas College & Beyond
Recipients of the Erin Tierney Kramp Encouragement Endowed Scholarship are also eligible to continue their college education beyond the six semesters at Dallas College at SMU or Austin College. Kramp recipients who meet the criteria may apply for the following scholarships:
- SMU Erin Tierney Kramp Honors Transfer Scholarship – Each year, two recipients may be selected and awarded full tuition for up to five terms at SMU.
- Austin College Erin Tierney Kramp Honors Transfer Scholarship and Financial Aid Award - Each year, one recipient may be selected and to receive full tuition for up to five terms at Austin College.
- Erin Tierney Kramp Continuing Education Grant – This grant was established to provide financial support for former ETK recipients to continue their education beyond Dallas College at a four-year university. A grant award from this fund does not require repayment and is not be considered a loan. Award amount is not to exceed $3,000 to any one student. The money may be spread over the remaining terms of their upper level schooling. At the discretion of the Board and availability of funds at the time of the request, the amount may be provided in a lump sum payment.
Application period is January 1st and ends on May 1st for the Fall semester.
