Jim White and Vicki Briley-White Scholarship

Jim White hosted the KRLD Restaurant Show which provided unique food and wine experiences from around the world. He was passionate about letting the world know that North Texas had world-class chefs and restaurants. He was a finalist in 1999 for the James Beard “Best Radio Show on Food”. As a result of his radio show, he created the Celebrity Chef Kitchen at the State Fair of Texas. Jim is in the Texas Radio Hall of Fame. Jim and his wife, Vicki, created Savor Dallas because they believed that Dallas deserved a world-class food and wine event. Jim passed away on June 4, 2022 after a brief illness.

As a result of seeing the need for both students and the industry while serving on the El Centro culinary program Advisory Board, Vicki requests your support for the “Jim White and Vicki Briley-White Scholarship Fund” benefitting The Culinary, Pastry and Hospitality Institute at Dallas College. The scholarship fund was started this year and will assist students who are committed to the culinary and hospitality industry. This scholarship will pave the way by helping students transform their lives and become part of an industry that provides enjoyment to many in this North Texas region. 

As Jim famously said at the close of every show, "If anyone asks what you're making for dinner, tell them Reservations."
