Mike A. Myers
Mike A. Myers, owner and Chairman of Myers Financial Corporation since 1969, has developed over 4500 acres into residential communities. For 32 years, Myers, as Chairman and CEO of Myers Bancshares, Inc., holding company of the oldest and largest continually owned independent bank in Tarrant County, has operated 14 community banks.
He has served as a director on the boards of major national firms and has owned and managed seven country clubs. Myers is co-founder and majority partner in the University of Texas Golf Club in Austin, Texas, which serves as the home course for the UT golf teams.
Myers has held volunteer leadership positions in numerous organizations, including the Dallas Assembly, Dallas Citizens Council, Young President's Organization, Longhorn Education Foundation, Dallas College Foundation, Parkland Hospital Foundation, and the Cotton Bowl Athletic Association. He currently serves as director of the Texas Interscholastic League Foundation and is Trustee Emeritus for the UT School of Law Foundation.
He has been recognized as DFW 2017 “Entrepreneur of the Year” and is a 2008 inductee into the Texas Business Hall of Fame. He is a member of UT’s McCombs Business School Hall of Fame, a UT Distinguished Alumnus honoree and recipient of the University’s prestigious Presidential Citation award.
Mike Myers started his philanthropic efforts early in life, establishing his Foundation at the age of 29. For over 50 years, he has consistently made significant contributions, focusing in large part on education. In 1990, he established the Myers-LeCroy Scholars Endowed Scholarship program at the DCCCD, benefiting over 225 recipients.
He was also instrumental in starting the Rising Star Program. He has generously donated to Parkland’s Ambulatory Surgery Center and the “I Stand for Parkland” campaign, for which the sky bridge bearing his name was dedicated. Myers earned a BBA from the University of Texas at Austin and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from UT School of Law.
